A Word From the Owner
Being born and raised on the family farm in Potter County, where I am now the fourth generation to reside. I followed in my father’s footsteps upon graduating from high school in 1990 and chose to pursue a career in forestry. My career began in 1992 after graduating from Pennsylvania College of Technology with an associate degree in forest management. Upon college graduation, I began a successful career as a procurement forester/timber buyer which spanned over the next 32-plus years. The first four years were spent working for a couple of smaller sawmills, which then led to a job with a large local sawmill for the following 28 years. These responsibilities included buying standing timber, managing company owned timberland, supplying the sawmill with sawlogs, and supervising all aspects of the logging operation. With this extensive experience and knowledge that I have accumulated over the years, I will provide private landowners with the best service in managing and marketing their standing timber.
As I have grown my experience and knowledge, I have found a passion and enjoyment of working with private landowners, which has led me to start Graves Consulting Forestry and Land Management LLC in 2024. I take pride in my work and will make it my mission to represent and assist private landowners in professional timberland management.
